Academic CV Grader

Academic CV audit

A rubric for the CV, before a committee reads it.

Grade a CV or a professional resume against field rubrics in eight areas: Computer Science & AI, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, Social Sciences & Humanities (not economics or psychology), Business & Management, Psychology, Economics, and Law. PDF, DOCX, TXT, and LaTeX (.tex) are accepted. The report marks missing sections, weak bullets, and integrity risks. It will not tell you to invent a paper.

How it works

  1. 01

    Submit the document

Upload a PDF, DOCX, TXT, or LaTeX (.tex), or paste the text. A single .tex file is converted on the server. Scanned pages that fail extraction can be pasted instead.

  2. 02

Name the field and the track

Eight fields are live, including business resumes, psychology, economics, and law. PhD, research MS, professional MS, JD, or PsyD.

  3. 03

    Read the audit

The report names the gaps on your document, with a short explanation and a concrete fix. Integrity warnings tell you to correct a claim, not to invent a stronger one.

What a report looks like

An illustration of the report layout. The rows are generic examples, not a score for a real CV and not the wording of any field checklist.

What a reading looks like

Sample layout

  • StrongResearch experience

    Research is easy to find

A reader can see where the research sits without hunting through coursework.

Suggested fix. None for this illustration.

  • WeakClarity

    Outcomes are vague

A bullet names a task but not what changed because of it.

Suggested fix. Say what you did and what resulted, using numbers you can stand behind.

  • CriticalIntegrity

A claim looks stronger than the evidence

Drafts and side contributions should not be described as finished, accepted work.

Suggested fix. Correct or delete the claim. Do not invent publications, venues, or prestige.

Field coverage

Fine-art portfolios are out of scope. Medicine, Math & Stats, and Earth sciences are not scored yet. Those drafts are still being checked against program guides.

  • Computer Science & AI

Research experience, publications, methods, clarity, and integrity. ML, systems, theory, HCI, and adjacent CS tracks.

  • Life Sciences

Research experience, publications, methods, mentoring, and integrity. Biology, biomed, neuroscience, and wet/dry lab research.

  • Physical Sciences & Engineering

Research experience, publications, methods, clarity, and integrity. Physics, ChemE, MatSci, ME, EE, and related fields.

  • Social Sciences & Humanities

Research experience, sources and methods, writing, languages, and integrity. History, political science, anthropology, literature, and related fields. Economics and psychology have their own rubrics.

  • Business & Management

Achievement bullets, impact, leadership, clarity, and integrity. MBA, MSF/MiF, MAcc, and specialized master's resumes. One page, achievement bullets.

  • Psychology

Research experience, methods, clinical scope, publications, and integrity. Clinical, experimental, and social PhD CVs, plus PsyD practice programs.

  • Economics

Research experience, methods, paper status, clarity, and integrity. PhD and predoc CVs. Math preparation, RA work, and honest paper status.

  • Law

Experience, writing, service, clarity, and integrity. JD resumes. Hours per week, service jobs kept, no test scores on the page.

Privacy and integrity

Uploaded CVs are stored on the account that submitted them and are not used for model training by default. The grader is a local rubric. Integrity checks flag inflated venues, false authorship, and overclaimed prestige, and the suggested fix is to correct or delete the claim. A score is not an admission decision.
